Brian L. Knutson, CPA, MBT, CVA
Brian joined the firm in 1977 after graduating from the University of Minnesota. He later went back to the University and received his Master of Business Taxation (MBT) degree. In 1995 he completed the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) program in order to assist clients with business valuations. Brian was elected partner in 1985.
Brian serves clients in the construction, real estate, wholesale, and retail industries. He also works extensively with tax, estate, and succession planning.
Brian is currently the managing partner of the firm. He is an active member of the tax round table and has previously served on numerous committees at the Minnesota Society of CPA's.
Peter J. Schadegg, CPA
Pete joined the firm in 1983 after graduating from the University of Minnesota. He was elected partner in 1995.
Pete serves clients in the construction, manufacturing, wholesale, agricultural, and retail industries.
Pete is also the partner in charge of the firm's computer consulting and accounting software group. This group, Cyber Solutions, LLC, consults with hardware and software purchases. They install and support Citrix virtual workplace software and ComputerEase accounting software.
Todd J. Koch, CPA, MBT, CFP
Todd joined the firm in 1981 after graduating from the University of Minnesota. He later went back to the University and received his Master of Business Taxation (MBT) degree in 1990. He was elected partner in 1996.
Over his years at JAK, his focus has moved to income and estate tax planning. This allows him to combine the knowledge he has earned in obtaining his CPA and CFP licenses.
Todd is an active member of the Minnesota Society of CPA's. As a MNCPA Ambassador, he has been quoted in the Star Tribune and the Pioneer Press as well as giving television and radio interviews on tax matters. He has testified and assisted in introducing tax bills before the Minnesota legislature. He continues to contribute to the University of Minnesota by serving as a guest lecturer at the Carlson School and by volunteering as a mentor to undergraduate students.
Jeffrey L. Meek, CPA, MBA
Jeff joined the firm in 1995. He has been in public accounting since he graduated from Iowa State University in 1991. He received his MBA in finance from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota. He was elected partner in 2004.
Jeff's focus is attest engagements and business planning. He works mostly with retail and construction companies.
Jeff is currently involved with the leadership committee at the Minnesota Society of CPA's. In the past he has taught continuing education classes. Jeff is active in the technology side of our profession and is leading the charge for the firm's push to a paperless office.
Jason J. Loven, CPA
Jason joined the firm in 1995 when he began his public accounting career. Previously he worked for what is now Wells Fargo from 1993-1995. Jason graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1992 with a bachelors degree in accounting.
Jason serves clients in the construction, service, retail, and manufacturing industries. His focus is attest engagements, business planning, and consulting.
Jason currently is involved with recruiting new staff members and assisting in developing younger staff through in-house training.
